Vacation Condominium This private residence was designed with the goal of creating a comfortable modern space for a vacation home. Material choices like native Wisconsin limestone, cherry and maple woods combine to make a warm environment that is open to the views. Custom millwork sliding doors with reeded glass allow the media room to do double duty as an occasional third bedroom while keeping the space as open as possible, allowing light and views to flow. The master bedroom is open to the capitol and fireplace views, and is also able to be closed off for privacy. An almost-hidden kitchen provides space to prepare meals for small groups or becomes buffet space for larger gatherings. The furnishings are a comfortable, stylish collection based on mid-century modern classics mixed with contemporary pieces. This home was featured in the 2005 Madison Museum of Contemporary Art’s Art & Architecture II tour and on HGTV’s What You Get for the Money.
